Our long-term phase 2 goal is to deliver a mentoring program for our young people. This will be tailored to the needs and aspirations of the young person, and they will be largely involved in the selection process for mentors.
The mentoring process will follow a carefully planned approach to maximize the likelihood of achieving development and progress. It will encompass a range of key themes such as mental wellbeing, health and fitness, employability, and targeted skills identified by the young people in a clearly set out action plan.
As part of our commitment to setting and maintaining the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection, we have strategic committee members who are highly knowledgeable in this field. Additionally, we have experts in law and governance guiding our practice to ensure that all aspects of our mentoring program adhere to the best practices in safeguarding and child protection. This ensures that the well-being and safety of the young people involved in our program are always our top priority.
The mentoring program will consist of two groups. The first group will include young individuals from families affected by illness, addiction, or poverty. The second group is specifically focused on young males who are at risk of being excluded from school or committing offenses. The program will employ our CHAP (Cultural Historical Activity Projects) approach.
