This is a throwback to our 2022 course delivered in collaboration with DRC Youth Project.
CHAP stands for Cultural Historical Activity Projects. This was the predecessor to the C.I.C and focused mainly on working with young males at risk of social isolation, committing a crime or being excluded from mainstream education. The sessions were delivered over a period of 6-8 weeks and focused on health and well being, substance awareness, social skills, gang culture and other issues relevant to the groups we worked with. This was the first attempt at putting the Activity Theory ideas into practice.
This program was delivered in collaboration with the DRC Youth Project in Yoker, Glasgow. Two facilitators collaborated with a group of approximately 8 young males during a short series of development sessions. The program included early morning boxing workouts, cooking sessions, neighborhood walks, field trips, football, and various other activities.
The long-term plan is to continue operating CHAP with a specialist focus on working in schools with males having issues adapting to a mainstream learning environment.
